XXXX elevates Queensland pride with flying giant cans and an AI-powered Maroons legend

To celebrate the mighty Queensland Maroons, Iconic Queensland beer, XXXX has flown giant cans of XXXX GOLD beer over the city of Brisbane in their annual signal of Queensland pride . Working with Maroons legend, Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin, XXXX has today released a world-first, “Fatty Says” AI powered app that brings the unmistakable voice and banter of Maroons legend Fatty straight into the hands of fans during the game.

XXXX takes Queensland pride to new heights

Representing Suncorp Stadium where the mighty Maroons will be competing in game one of the 2025 State of Origin series, Brisbanites were delighted with Queensland pride in the shape of four giant ‘XXXX GOLD Pride in Your Origin’ cans in front of Story Bridge.

This morning, Milton’s 4064 postcode donned the huge XXXX GOLD Pride In Your Origin cans which were made from custom helium inflatable PVC which has been digitally printed to look just like the XXXX GOLD Pride In Your Origin Cans. Each can was inflated with a mixture of helium and air to achieve net zero buoyancy while it was navigated by a customised DJI Flycart 30 drone. Coming in at an impressive 16kgs and 4m tall by 2.2m wide per can is the equivalent of over 15,000 litres of beer per flying can of XXXX.

Karen Sterling-Levis, Brand Director – Core Beer, said “We know how much Queenslanders back their state – it’s in their blood. Flying the XXXX GOLD Pride In Your Origin cans is our way of taking that pride to the skies, and celebrating the communities, postcodes and people that make this state great.”

XXXX has worked with Queensland Maroons players Shenae Ciesolka and Moeaki Fotuaika, who are wearing their hometown postcodes with pride on their jersey sleeve this Origin season in place of the XXXX logo. Both players acknowledge their career success to the local communities who supported them over the years. Ciesiolka and Fotuaika understand how much it means to showcase pride in your origin.

Shenae Ciesiolka (4401), Queensland Maroons Women’s centre commented “There’s nothing like seeing your hometown postcode on your jersey — it reminds you why you play and who you’re playing for. The pride runs deep, and seeing XXXX cans flying across Queensland just brings it home even more, especially before the men’s team takes on game one on home turf. ”

Moeaki Fotuaika (4124), Queensland Maroons Men’s prop adds “We’re ready to take on the Blues in game one tomorrow night and what better way than to hype up Queenslanders than seeing the big 4064 postcode on XXXX flying cans in the sky – doesn’t get more Queensland than that and charges us up to bring home a win. ”

XXXX brings back Fatty Vautin out of retirement

“Fatty Says” , the brand-new interactive app uses cutting-edge voice cloning and AI tech FATGPT to deliver an experience that’s part footy companion, part comedy gold, and 100% Fatty. The app experience will culminate in Fatty Vautin “coming out of retirement’ to call one last series with reactions to gameplay delivered in real-time and in his usual parochial Queensland style – all generated by AI. Fans will be able to access Fatty commentating all games for free and downloading from the app store. To unlock the FATGPT AI function to chat to Fatty, punters will need to upload proof of purchase of a carton of XXXX.

Paul Vautin, Queensland State of Origin cult hero, says: “After a long career in footy and over three decades in commentating, I’m excited to bring my knowledge to league fans in this virtual format. It’s an honour to come back on the screens for one more Origin season in a smaller AI version of myself – so make sure to download the app via the App Store or grab it on Google Play and see what Fatty Says while tuning into the Origin series.”
