Register your compliance to our Safety Essentials

We’re serious about safety, which is why all contractors must register and maintain their compliance on the LION Induction & Prequalification Hub.

WorkMetrics manages this system on our behalf.

How does it benefit you?

Registration helps us assess that you align with Lion’s Safety Essentials, ensuring you have the systems, qualifications, and competencies to make safe decisions – keeping everyone safe every day and building stronger, long-standing partnerships.

  • Join an exclusive list of pre-approved contractors
  • Build a stronger partnership with LION
  • Enjoy more opportunities as you can prove you are fit to work
  • Use the simple online interface to manage your profile at any time
  • Stay up to date with our safety expectations
  • Have all inductions and training completed prior to coming to work

Who needs to register?

All contractors are required to register before arriving at any LION site or venue to ensure our safety standards are met. Primary contractors are responsible for managing the safety and compliance of any subcontractors they engage.

Labour hire provided by Programmed is exempt from this registration process.

Get started in 3 simple steps

1. Register your company

Start by verifying your business by ABN/NZBN number, enter your details and complete the prompts to fill out your profile.

New Zealand Companies registration here

2. Pay for registration

Your business structure determines business registration fees:

  • Australia: Annual Registration Fee $75 plus GST and $25 plus GST for Sole Traders (AUD)
  • New Zealand: Annual Registration Fee $85 and $25 for Sole Traders (NZD)

The fee covers the audit process required to verify your submission and should be viewed as an operational cost for your business. It forms part of the overall commercial contract when working with LION.

3. Complete pre-qualification form

Complete the form with the required licenses, insurance and safety performance details. You’ll need to upload copies of the licences and insurance for verification. Documents may include:
  • Insurances such as Workers Compensation and Public Liability
  • Company Trade Licences
  • Safety Management System Certification

We’ll let you know when your documents are verified or if you need to update anything.
