The initiative celebrates Queensland communities and the players’ roots, debuting in game one on May 1, 2025.

What you need to know

  • XXXX has replaced its sleeve logo with players’ hometown postcodes for the Women’s State of Origin series.
  • The initiative celebrates Queensland communities and the players’ roots, debuting in game one on May 1, 2025.

Queensland will now have an even deeper connection to the mighty Queensland Maroons women’s team in this Origin series, thanks to XXXX – the QRL’s longest-running partner and one of Queensland’s most iconic brands.

XXXX is handing over its prominent jersey sleeve branding to Queensland communities for all games of the Women’s State of Origin series. The brand will be swapping out its iconic XXXX logo for the women to proudly wear their own postcodes – so that every time the Maroons run onto the field, they’ll be proudly representing not just the state, but the many local communities that make Queensland great.

This new powerful gesture celebrates Queensland pride, passion for rugby league, and the spirit of mateship – all qualities embodied by the Maroons women’s squad. Players will each wear a postcode that holds a special place in their heart – their own postcode of origin.

“XXXX has been a proud mate of Queensland for 147 years, and what makes this state so special are the people from all over, from Cape York to Coolangatta and everywhere in between. With the Maroons women’s team continuing to inspire the next generation, we wanted to spotlight the towns and regions behind the players.”

Karen Sterling-Levis, Brand Director – Core Beer at Lion

“We know that the Origin series is all about capturing state pride so by dropping our XXXX logo for the player’s postcode of their choice is a great way we can honour the incredible communities that have shaped these players and contributed to the excellence in women’s rugby league.”

Oakey is the proud hometown of Maroons player Shenae Ciesiolka, who will wear 4401 on her sleeve during the all three games.

“There’s something really special about running out for Queensland with my hometown postcode on my sleeve. It’s more than a postcode, Oakey is where everything started for me, the early mornings, the muddy boots, the local support. Having 4401 on my jersey during Origin is a proud reminder of the people and the place that helped me in my career and it’s an honour to take them with me to the Origin stage. Representing Queensland is always a huge honour, but wearing my hometown’s postcode makes it even more special.”

The Queensland Maroons women’s team will debut their postcodes on their sleeve during game one of the Origin series on 1 May 2025.
