Lion Global Markets
Lion Global Markets was launched in 2015 to take Lion’s Australian and New Zealand craft beers and ciders into new international markets, and accelerate the growth of our wine business in North America.
We have a differentiated model centred around creating a physical presence in priority cities across China, South-East Asia, Europe and USA. From there we distribute some of Lion’s most iconic brands in more than 30 cities across the globe.
We continue to see significant opportunity for our brands to engage new customers in global markets with the same promise of craftsmanship, innovation and authenticity that have made them household names in both Australia and New Zealand.
In 2016 we opened our first Little Creatures overseas venue and micro-brewery in Kennedy Town, Hong Kong, to take advantage of Asia’s growing interest in quality and trusted Australian products and a fast-developing craft beer scene.
Following our success in Hong Kong, we opened the doors at Little Creatures Mohamed Ali Lane in Singapore in 2018, with plans to open a third Little Creatures venue in London towards the end of 2018.
Lion has also opened two Brewer’s Lab concept venues in Beijing and Shanghai in partnership with local hospitality operators. Each venue offers the Little Creatures and White Rabbit ranges on tap, as well as regular beer education sessions with our brewers, and the opportunity to learn about the brewing process.
Our distribution channels
We are now selling Lion beer and cider in 30 global cities including Hong Kong, Singapore and in China and Thailand as well as across the UK, Europe and North America.
We work with local importers and in some countries, we also sell direct to the consumer.
We manage a chilled supply chain across the globe which enables us to offer the freshest, best quality beer to our customers.
Lion has a team of approximately 140 people in the United States primarily focused on fine wine.
Our Macrostie Winery in Sonoma is a world-class winery experience and recently took out best Winery in Sonoma and Best Tasting Room in the Napa Valley and Sonoma at San Francisco Magazine’s ‘Best of Wine Country 2017’ awards.
